Bitkub.com – Buy Cryptocurrency in THB

After the demise of BX, I had to find a new home to buy, sell, trade and transfer my cryptocurrency in THB. I was pretty gutted as BX seemed perfect and I thought I would be getting a worse service from whoever stepped up to the plate. Luckily I was wrong as Bitkub has been fantastic in the few months I’ve used them.

Bitkub actually has a wider range of coins than BX and I find the interface easier to use. What’s more, their customer service staff seem to be Filipino so English is never a problem (the site is also in Thai). I’d certainly recommend it as the place to go for anyone looking to buy crypto here in Thailand.

Signing Up

The signup process is pretty identical to the BX way. A few pages of details to fill in and then send a copy of your passport, a signed page with the date and your personal photo and you’re good to go.

When it comes to depositing you’ll need to send through a scan of your Thai bank book. All in all, I was ready to trade within 24 hours.

Depositing

What has really impressed me is the new instant deposit feature where my bank deposits are ready to trade within a matter of seconds. There’s no waiting minutes / hours for funds to be available. It really is a game-changer. I was able to move funds from my Thai bank account, via Bitkub, Coinbase and to my UK bank account in under an hour.

Transferring / Withdrawing

I’ve transferred funds out to my cold storage device and it’s taken less than two minutes. I’ve withdrawn a small amount of baht back to my SCB bank account and it was there within the hour. In general, everything works here as you’d expect.

Buying

The one area which was a little confusing for me, compared to some other exchanges, was the buying process. Like many other exchanges, you have the option of a market view or a more simplified buy / sell screen. I use the latter but I’ve yet to find an option where you can see exactly how much of a coin you will get when using THB to purchase. Perhaps it is there but I’m missing something. However, when using my calculator I’ve always received the exact amount expected, it would be nice just to see this added to the site though.

Purchased coins are then transferred to your wallet and I like that it shows gains / losses in the wallet in real-time.

Customer Sevice

As mentioned I had to deal with their customer service recently and received a call from them to verify some information. The staff member was Filipino which I liked as I have had problems communicating with Thai customer service staff from some companies. I also had prompt email responses from Bitkub which was reassuring too.

Coins

Bitkub has a wider choice than BX did. Most of the top coins are there, check out this link for their complete directory of coins.

Security

The site has Two-Step Authentication which works well.

Bitkub.com Review

Overall I can speak very highly of Bitkub and feel they are the best site in Thailand at the moment to buy, sell and trade crypto. I had previously spoken so highly of BX but I feel that Bitkub is an even better exchange here in Thailand.
