If you want to watch 2019 Rugby World Cup in Thailand then the good news is there are several great options. The games kick off in the afternoon / early evening Thai time which means that this World Cup will be perfect compared to when it was in the UK last time and games started super late.

Watch at Home

The great news is that BeIn Sports has the rights to show the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Thailand. They previously had the rights to UK football and did a great job at that in my opinion.

For 1,400 baht you can get a tournament pass which includes every game live. With the football they also have a live pause feature and 7 day catch up. They haven’t announced these yet but I’d presume you’ll get these options too for the RWC. You have the option of watching on a website or app, both of which can be connected up to a TV to watch on the big screen.

There will be commentary in English and perhaps in Thai too. Visit their site here to sign up and hopefully they’ll release more info soon.

There will also be lots of “unofficial” sites streaming matches but, for 1,400 baht, this deal from BeIn sports is a no-brainer for those wanting to watch at home in great quality.

Watch at a Pub

Thailand has a huge range of pubs and bars. However, you’ll be looking for sports bars and expat pubs to show the rugby, your average Thai bar will probably have no interest in putting it on the big screen.

In Bangkok there are some great sports bars. You also have British pubs such as the Robin Hood and Chequers, an Aussie bar , Irish pub and a Kiwi pub too so you can meet up with like minded people.

If you are looking for somewhere more neutral in Bangkok then you can’t go wrong with either The Sportsman or The Club House.

In Pattaya check out I-Rovers or Retox which are regarded as two of the best sports bars in town.

I’m not up to speed with sports bars in Chiang Mai but this page on Whatsup-Chiangmai.com has a selection of 10 sports bars where you should be able to watch the rugby.

Again I’ve not been to a sports bar in Phuket but Phuket.com has a good page with info on ten options on the island..

Kick Off Times

If you’re looking to find out the match times based on Thailand then go to the official site here which shows the kick off time in Japan and Thailand.

As you’ll see the earliest times are 11.45am and the latest start is 17.45 Thai time. Sure it would be a bit nicer to be a couple of hours later but, compared to 11pm starts, I’d take this.

If you find anywhere else showing the games leave a comment below!
